Veronica "Vera" (Debuski) Chisick, 91, formerly of Texas Avenue, Shenandoah Heights, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Camp Hill.
Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Morea, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Koch) Debuski.
She was a graduate of the former Mahanoy Twp. High School.
Vera was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and the former St. George's Church. She was also a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward J. Chisick, in 2000; five brothers, Michael, Andrew, John, Stephen and Peter Debuski; two sisters, Mary Antalosky and Ann Richter.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Monaghan and her partner, Candy Krammes, of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Kelly Monaghan and her partner, Natalie, of Elizabethtown, Lynette Monaghan, of Sugar Land, Texas, and Larissa Monaghan, of York; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; her sister, Margaret Horbacz, of Largo, Fla.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, with the Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
