I'm lost for words today. Met Beard at YMCA then we became closer friends as we chose another work out facility and became blood brothers. Sharing our family experiences together and Life. Never got a chance to meet the family but felt like I knew them always. I'm gonna miss my brother dearly. May I say "God makes know mistakes" "Go Yankee's " Go Duke"

We all knew there was something wrong when you drove to work and stepped into building 720 for the last time. Words cannot express how every member of the team you guided and coached daily feel about you no longer walking around the work area and providing your 38 years of logistics experience. You will be forever be missed by all whom you worked with and provided guidance. Our prayers and heartfelt condolence to the family and friends you so early left behind. RIP coach!!!

So many people are sad and in disbelieve about the passing of Jay. Jacqueline, Patty, Markita, and James please know that your husband, brother, and Dad was respected, admired and had a profound effect on all that knew him. Jay was like a brother to me and a son to my Dad, Jay's football coach. In high school, among his teammates, coaches, and trainer there has been nothing but incredible admiration for Jay. Bill Rogers, our trainer stated "You don't see the don't quit, desire/attitude to win as much with kids today. Bill went on to say "he was the ultimate team leader" also, "Jay was one of those rare individuals who was intelligent and extremely polite, but when he stepped on the football field, he was a force to be reckoned with".
I spoke with a player, PJ who was invited to play on the varsity team as a freshman (the only player offered to play as a freshman) before our championship game. "PJ" stated that "some of the players gave me a hard time. Jay put a stop to this fast! Jay took me under his wing and I will never forget his kindness."
There are countless stories about what a class act Jay was. The people of Schuylkill County
have not forgotten about our brother, Jay; his memory will be with us forever.

We joked over the phone a month ago and I could hear a change in his voice. But I didn´t ask...I should have. My Air Force father-figure and friend.
Mrs. Jackie, Kita, and James your husband and father boasted about you all every time we spoke. And though I haven´t met you, I celebrated your college graduations and followed up on your successes. It saddens me to say, he will be truly missed. He impacted so many Airman´s lives, to include my own. I am forever grateful for our conversations and his encouraging words.
Praying for comfort, peace and strength for you all.

Jay has been my closest friend since we first met as kids playing sports including playing basketball at the "mission house" after school. Through our friendship we truly became family and spent a great deal of time together through college and after. Our respective parents became parents for both of us and that was sometimes a challenge due to mischievous adventures that we would become involved in. Through the decades, we continued with regularly "long" telephone conversations and were making plans for him to visit me in Las Vegas where he once resided as well. To say that I will miss him is a tremendous understatement. I hope my brother rests in peace. Until we see each other again. Love Ya! Scott
