William A. Tarn, of New Libson, N.J., passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2021, at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones. Bill's life did not come to an end with his death. He has gone home to be with the Lord.
He was born in Shenandoah Heights, and was a son of William and Mary Tarn, of Mahanoy City.
William is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; his children, Tom (Michal) Wall, Tammy Wall and Brian Wall. He has two beautiful granddaughters, Zoe and Phoebe Wall; sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Bill loved all of his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandpa.
He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources and Pemberton Township Public Works.
Bill was a parishioner of Messiah Lutheran Brethren Church.
He was also a member of F&AM of PA Lodge 238 and Supreme Council 33 AASR.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Bill. He loved going to Gettysburg, Shady Maple, Lancaster and the Barnegat Light House. His favorite things to eat were pizza and chocolate. He took great pride in the projects he made in his woodshop and taking care of his lawn and pond. He loved discussing current events and politics with anyone who would listen. He liked the Yankees and Cleveland Browns.
Bill's favorite thing in his life was coaching. He coached Mahanoy Area Midget Football for 18 years and some PAAL basketball. His football players learned many things from him. They are honored to be part of his legacy. He taught them more than playing football.
