Annie Yarborough Obituary

Annie Mae Kelley

Yarborough

Timmonsville – Annie Mae Kelley Yarborough, 100, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 7, 2022, at McLeod Hospice House.

She was born, September 15, 1921, in Lynchburg, SC. She was a daughter of the late Mabel Truluck Kelley and the late William Lafayette Kelley. Annie Mae was a very active member of the Sardis Baptist Church since 1938. She was an employee of the Gregory Tobacco Warehouse in Timmonsville for over 25 years. She was the friendly face of Cale Yarborough Dry Cleaners until the age of 96 and always brightened the day of every customer that entered the door.

Annie Mae adored and was intensely proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was their loyal supporter and extended unconditional love to all of them.

She was the essence of the gracious Southern lady. She exemplified contentment and happiness that spring from a genuine love of God, life, and people. Her generosity and abundant kindness were evident to all who were fortunate enough to have been in her presence. She never allowed sadness to overwhelm her, but chose to see goodness in everything and everyone.

She embraced life and gave her time, attention, and unconditional praise not only to her family, but to everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her appreciation for life was contagious, and those in her presence were always aware that her life was guided by higher principles. Annie Mae made a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Annie Mae is survived by three sons, Cale Yarborough (Betty Jo) of Olanta, Jerry Yarborough (Jackie) of Chapin, and J.C. Yarborough of Sardis; a sister, Elizabeth Rentz of Columbia; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julian Caleb Yarborough; her second husband, Vernon Epps Floyd; a brother, Willie James Kelley; and a sister, Krystal Kelley Dangle.

A memorial service will be held 2 P.M. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Burton Welsh officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, 3129 Sardis Highway, Timmonsville, SC 29161.

Beauty was deep on the inside of this sweet lady and her face glowed from within. Our paths would cross seldom, but with Home Coming at Bethel we could always get caught up. What a great example of God's love. Thank you for brightening my life

We really got to know this very special lady through our association with her at Sardis Church. Always a smile, always a welcome and always a genuine interest in people and her surroundings. We have missed seeing her at church the last few months but are confident we will meet up with her again.
