Betty Palmer Obituary

Betty Anne Gregg Palmer, 92, passed away on November 4, 2024. Her ashes were laid to rest on May 10, 2025, beside her beloved husband, Maurice "Mo" Gardner Palmer.
Born in Florence to Josie Snipes and Eugene Gregg, Betty grew up in a lively household with six sisters. Her childhood shaped her patience, resilience, and devotion to family.
After high school, Betty attended nursing school while Mo served in the Navy. They exchanged letters across the ocean, married on December 26, 1953, and renewed their vows on June 6, 1976. Their 30 years together were filled with love, travel, community and caregiving.
Throughout her life, Betty was many things, a daughter, sister, nurse, wife, mother, aunt, gardener, cook, bowler and card-player.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mo; her sons, Melvin Eugene and Maurice Gregg, and five sisters.
She is survived by her children, Walter Gary (Tami) Palmer, Bernard Glen (Debi) Palmer, and Gail (Roslyn Quarto) Palmer; grandchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Michael, Kristi, Brittany, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Jaylynn, Alana, Amiyah, Aiden, Chloe, and Liam; and her sister, Johnnie Jo Gregg.
Betty was a caregiver to all and will be deeply missed.
