Services for Clyde Gene Arnette will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Dillon. Burial with military honors will be held in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Arnette, 84, went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born in Florence, SC, January 7, 1941, he was the son of the late Clyde Arnette and Lucille Watts Arnette.

He was a dedicated church member of First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and served on numerous committees. Gene was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a graduate of Clemson College and he was a loyal employee of Dixiana Mills for nearly 30 years, and he retired from Anvil.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lorene Bridgers Arnette; children, Angie Kidd (Sidney) of Monroe, NC, Clyde G. Arnette, Jr. (Kim) of Fort Collins, CO, Jeff Arnette of Dillon, Luci Turner (Roland) of Dillon, and Laura Kendrick (Stephen) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Connor Kidd (Phylissa), Heather Kidd, both of Charlotte, NC, Alicia Arnette and Cade Arnette both of Fort Collins, CO, and Pearle Kendrick of Charlotte, NC; sister, Anita Carter (Earl) of Dillon; brother, Gerald Arnette (Martha Ann) of Dillon; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Arnette was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde & Lucille Arnette and grandchildren, Meredith Kidd, Colin Kidd and Elizabeth Arnette.
