Connie was a dear sweet client of ours at Merrill Lynch for a very long time. I always enjoyed talking with her, she was like family to me. I know the family will really miss her but she's with our Lord and Savior now. She will truly be missed.

If you could think of every kind word you know it would not be enough to describe Connie Walter. She was by far more than a family friend, she was family. She took care of us, mentally, physically and spirituality. Connie never missed a birthday or holiday. She threw the best Christmas parties and made the best Mac and Cheese to which she taught me how to bake. Connie made sure my Dad was OK while Mom was in the hospital or rehab, bringing him cooked meals and a shoulder to lean on 2x a week.( despite the hour drive each way:) She made sure we got a vacation by giving us her beach house for a week. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for her friends and family. The world lost a good person, we lost a best friend an auntie and possibly the kindest person we were lucky enough to love. I definitely wasn't ready for this but God was. See you on the flip side, stay close to Mom she will have trouble without you. Connie you were our family's personal rock. Lord have mercy we will miss you❤

Connie hired me as her secretary at GEICO February, 1987 when she was Vice President. She was always a fair and honest boss and our work relationship developed into a friendship. It was great working with her and you always knew where she stood about anything. A couple of her favorite sayings were "listen to Ma-ma Walter" or "jerk you through a knot hole backwards" as well as several others to get her point across. She supported me in my career advancement within GEICO. She was a woman in a man's world at GEICO but well respected by all.

Her and I shared a love for cats and I will miss those conversations. One time when I worked for her, she told me of a kitten that needed a home and I said I would take it. She bought it in to work for me and hid it under her desk the entire day hoping the boss would not pay a surprise visit. Everyday, Connie, Brenda, Barbara and I would go to lunch. We became known as the 4 Musketeers - sadly I am the last one. The hotdog sales for charity were a blast and always looked forward to. I left GEICO to move to Utah for several years due to my husband's transfer but I have always kept in contact with her through the years. Somehow, along the way, we always greeted one another by saying "Hello Easter Bunny" when we talked by telephone. I got to say that to her one last time this Easter in a text. She was always supportive not only about work but personal also. She was there for my mother's memorial service which she drove 2 hours to attend and also attended my husband's at Arlington.

I will miss her greatly and I treasure all our years of friendship and the memories and cat talk. Heaven is one star brighter and ever so lucky to have her.

Take it easy Easter Bunny, see you on the other side.

Love, Becky Combs

Connie was my dear friend and was considered family to the Sweeney’s and Hobb’s! She was always included in all we did. She attended horse shows, baseball games, family picnics and vacations. We certainly enjoyed her beach house and travelled to Myrtle many times. Our trips included cruises to Alaska eating as much bread pudding as possible, family trip to England and Ireland staying at B&B’s and checking to see who had the best scones. We have so many wonderful memories. One funny night was we celebrated St. Patrick’s day in Bethesda one year with friends and Connie got a little tipsy and swore never again, but so much fun. She loved her friends and really loved her Redskins - she was a loyal fan and never gave up on them. Oh how I will miss you my friend until we meet again!❤❤❤
