I met Rev Dr EB Burroughs in the 90s when he came to Kenya with Transworld Radio. He was among the 9 Baptist guest pastors from the USA. I WAS IN HIGH school then. He preached in our church on Sunday. I was his interpretor. I also played a accordion and sung. He was impressed with me. We kept in touch afew times but lost contact. Just learnt today he is no more. My late condolence. I would like to get in touch with the family. Rev. Ombima Kenya. Email; [email protected]

My earliest memories of Rev. Burroughs is with the 5th Sunday Singing Convention that involved my church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, the church Rev. Burroughs pastored, Palmetto Baptist Church, and 4 other churches. I always enjoyed Rev Burroughs preaching and was amazed on how high he could leap! He was a preaching machine. Not only did he preach, but he taught. His sermons had substance.
He is one of 3 men who I blame for influencing me to a teacher. His question, "Lebbie, have you considered going into education".
My family loves Rev and Mrs. Burroughs.
To the Burrough´s family, I pray for your comfort and strength in the Lord! Rev. Burroughs stressed dependence on the Lord, wholly leaning on him.
He will be missed. My regret is I put off calling or visiting.
Well done good and faithful servant; enter into our Father´s rest.
Much love,
Lebbie Lee

The Pee Dee has lost a very heroic icon, in the world of Christian Leadership. Reverend Burroughs, and his beautiful wife, Mrs. Doris Burroughs were a team, and one that never had to demand respect. They warranted it, by the way they carried themselves.
Reverend Burroughs´ Spirit of Love and compassion was well recognized throughout his tenure in the Pee Dee Association. His legacy has been well established, and many have, and will continue to be blessed, because of his dedication and constant desire to properly prepare, teach, and train others. Rest In Peace, Reverend Burroughs.
Mrs. Burroughs, please know that I am praying for you, and the entire family.

Extending my sincere condolences to the Burroughs and my Cherry Grove church family. He laid the foundation for my Christian walk and was such an inspiration to so many of us. Even though I'd moved away, I still considered him my pastor. I was grateful for him and the role he played in my life. He married my parents and was able to do their 50th vow renewal in 2016. Pastor Burroughs, take your rest. The work you've done has truly spoken for you!
