Nikolakakos
George Jim Nikolakakos, 49, of Florence, SC passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
George was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Demetre "Jim" Nikolakakos and Katie Thompson Nikolakakos. He was a graduate of West Florence High School and Limestone University. George was an Aircraft Armament System Specialist for 9 years in the US Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he served in Operations Northern Watch and Deliberate Force, earning two achievement medals. Most recently he worked as Project Manager for Utility Partners of America, LLC. George was an avid enthusiast of history and aeronautical aviation. He treasured spending time with his family, which included kayaking, karaoke and trips to the beach. He was a member of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda Vergara Nikolakakos; daughters, Joanna V. Nikolakakos, Maria Ann Nikolakakos, Andrea Rose Nikolakakos, and Christina Sofia Nikolakakos; twin brother, Pete J. (Christina) Nikolakakos; sister, Patty N. Seastrunk, and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
A Trisagion will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the family receiving friends afterwards until 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. We rode the same bus in elementary school and had many classes together as youngsters. He was always very friendly. Truly heartbreaking news. Praying for you all.
