Olin Bullock Obituary
Bullock, Jr.
Olin Spinks Bullock, Jr., 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on February 20, 1933, to the late Olin S. Bullock, Sr., and Margaret Cason Bullock Thornburg. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Bullock Sartorius; his brother, Harris Bullock; and sister, Jean Bullock.
After serving in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean Conflict, Olin graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He retired from Wellman Industries, after 29 years of service.
He was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and on many committees. In addition to finding joy in helping others, Olin loved to turn a plain piece of wood into something beautiful and/or useful. His yard was a place of beauty, especially in the Spring, when the many azaleas he had rooted, put on a show for all to enjoy.
Olin and Joyce enjoyed traveling the world over, seeking out new sights and adventures.
Classic cars were a particular favorite. Olin was a member of a local antique car club and enjoyed going to car shows.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Joyce of Florence; son, Richard Bullock of Dothan, AL; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received friends in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, March 4, 2022. A funeral service will immediately followed in the Chapel. Entombment was at the Mausoleum at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 524 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501
