Raymon Hearne Obituary

Raymon Heywood Hearne, 85, of the Evergreen Community, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Veteran Village. Born in Pamplico, S.C., a son of the late JB and Bertha Poston Miles Hearne. He served his country in the US Air Force and worked at several retail companies in Florence, including Treasure City, Kmart, Schofield Hardware and Walmart. Ray loved fishing and working with his hands, especially woodworking and gardening
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Violette Ann Oney Hearne, brothers, Wesley and Rudy Hearne, Darvin and Chalice Miles; sisters, Mary Newell and Vonnie Hearne.
Surviving are four children, Elizabeth (Sandy) Morris, Cynthia (Ray) Velasquez, Michael (Ellen) Hearne, and Stephen (Laurie) Hearne; two sisters, Shirley (George) Rhame and Pauleen Hinshaw; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m., just prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1434 S McCurdy Rd, Florence, SC 29506.
