Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Country Manor Chapel in Sartell for Anthony E. "Tony" Gill, age 78, of Sauk Rapids who died Friday at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Rev. Ronald Weyrens and Chaplain Adam Sohre will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery on Wednesday with full military honors provided by East Side VFW Post 4847. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the chapel in Sartell. Sacred Heart Christian Women (St. Monica's Society) will pray the rosary at 6:00 p.m. followed by East Side VFW Post 4847at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. all Monday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Tony was born on May 1, 1935 in St. Joseph to George and Clara (Tauber) Gill. He served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1960. Tony married Margaret "Marge" Hetherington on September 3, 1966 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. Tony lived in Sauk Rapids most all of his life and was a Carpenter for many years, working for various unions. He also had a hobby farm, raising beef cattle and hogs. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Side VFW Post 4847 and the Sauk Rapids Sportsmen's Club. He was a faithful person who enjoyed hunting, gardening, playing cards, Bingo and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marge of Sauk Rapids; children, Tom (Roz) of Rice, Dennis (Terri) of St. Augusta, Ken (Jackie) of Foley and Scott (Anne) of Sauk Rapids; brother, Florian of St. Augusta; sister, Cecelia Anderlie of Onamia and seven grandchildren, Noel, Donovan, Courtney, Kayla, Andrew, Gavin and Lainey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, George, Lawrence, Betty Markfort, Carol Gill, Norbert and Bernard.

A special thank you to the staff at Pine Cone Lodge in Country Manor and St. Croix Hospice for their outstanding care given to Tony.
