Cecelia Kohorst Obituary
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 ? 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). Parish Prayers will be at 7 PM followed by a rosary with the Christian Women, Catholic Aid Association and St. Francis Xavier Mission Group Monday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home.
Cecelia Christine was born in Farming, MN to Joseph and Anna (Lodermeier) Rausch. She married Leo Joseph Kohorst on October 2, 1940 in St. Catherine's Church, Farming, MN. Cecelia worked as a dietary aide at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home and was an avid quilter, card player and gardener. She was a member of St. Catherine's Parish, Catholic Aid Association, Christian Women, St. Francis Xavier Mission Group and Crosier Apostolate.
Survivors include her children, Henry (Vicky) of St. Cloud, Liola (Jim) Dold of Richmond, Mary Ann (Ken) Buttweiler of Avon, Beatrice (Greg) Vasterling of Cottage Grove, Ronald (Joyce) of St. Michael, Arnold (Jill Haffley) of Richmond, and Daniel (Barb) of Farming; sisters, Leona Statz of Richmond and Theresa Loecken of Melrose; 25 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Harvey; parents; grandson, Leo "Lee" Kohorst; sisters, Mary, Elizabeth "Liz", Catherine, and Margaret; brothers, Edmund, Alphonse, and Leander.
