David A. Daniel

St. Joseph - David A. Daniel, age 65, of St. Joseph, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, MN.

A memorial gathering celebrating Dave's life will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the St. Cloud Eagles Club #622 from 2:00-4:00 PM with a reception at 4:00 PM. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud

David Arnold Daniel was born on February 2, 1953 in St. Cloud, MN to Robert and Marian (Hemme) Daniel. Dave was married to Ramona Kurkosky on November 2, 1979 in St. Joseph, MN. He worked as a preventive maintenance specialist at the Sartell Paper Mill, was a member of the fire brigade there and was a first responder. Dave was an accomplished musician who could play virtually any instrument he touched. His love of music was a driving force in his life and he had his own band for over 35 years. Dave will be remembered as a man of honor, who had a great sense of humor, a quick wit, an ironclad memory, and was always putting others first. He was always tinkering on something or planning a prank and had an intense love of extension cords and duct tape. He loved animals and Lake Superior, he was very proud of his boat there, the Ramona Rose, but most of all he loved his family and treasured time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona of St. Joseph; children, Shelley (Chris) Dressen of Lester Prairie, Dave (Janelle) Daniel of Sauk Rapids, and Kate (Greg Bellenger) Daniel of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Tommy, Josie, Colton, Claire, Vanessa, and Emmett; best friends who he loved like brothers, Mark Justin, Ken Peka, and Chet Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and many musician friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
