We can remember always wanting to visit Mr. Kellers store when I was in town. The store always carried first class merchandise and Mr. Keller and the staff were always very friendly and caring. The gourmet food section of the store was always a favorite for me anud the vast collection of porcelain birds by Sadek. One of the better collections.

When I initially heard of Mr. Keller's passing, so many memories of him came to mind. On several occasions when I was in the store, both on Orangeburg and McHenry Village, he would share some story with me. I remember him telling me about how the complimentary gift wrapping came to be and when he decided to start selling the different kinds of coffee....so many memories. Mr. Keller was definitely "a larger than life" type of individual who worked very hard. Even in later years when he was not in the store as much, I still felt his presence. To the Keller family I extend my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. May his spirit continue to live on in his children and grandchildren.

Dear Julie, Cherie, Joyce and family,
I truly believe Erv was one of those people that was "bigger than life." My favorite memory of Erv was when I shared a dance with him at the wedding of his grandson, Josh. I may be able to qualify as the world's worst dancer but Erv insisted that I just needed to "relax" and we would be fine.
Carrying on after one of our loved ones have left us is never easy. I will keep all of you in my heart.
Love you all, Sharron

Dearest Keller Family, I was so sad to learn of Mr. Keller's passing. What a lucky man to have had so long and full a life with you all at its center. Mr. Keller was, indeed, a 'bigger than life' figure in our community, but even more importantly, his family, through his beautiful wife and daughters, improve the life of our community still, every day. My loving thoughts are with you.

Trips to Keller's are a must each Christmas. We arrived in Modesto in 1968 and I was introduced to Keller's by friends we met shortly thereafter. It reminded me of 2 similar stores I had left behind in the move and I was grateful to find this store in the area I have since learned to call home. On visits to Keller's it was a joy to hear Mr. Keller's voice clearly assisting a customer or making sure that things were correctly placed. You knew that he cared about his store. Thank you Mr. Keller for giving Modesto such a wonderful collection of items in a welcoming environment.
To your family with send our thoughts and prayers. You will be remembered. On my trips to Keller's I will smile as I think of the times I would hear your voice. Rest well.

Julie, Cherie and Joyce, I knew your father almost as long as I have known my own father. I remember Erv as very funny and welcoming each time I visited your home. Growing up, he always seemed bigger than life. During my Roosevelt Jr. High years, I remember going with Cherie and our other friends to Bluewits (sp) and Keller's after school where Erv would usually greet us. I will always treasure knowing him. My sympathies on the loss of your husband and father.

Thank you Mr. Keller for making Christmas extra special after a trip to Kellers. My young daughter always felt special when we came to see Upstairs decorated for the holidays...and the gift of an ornament has left a lingering joy in our hearts. We will always remember fondly the man in charge! Peace to your family.
