Fern I. Hertzberg, age 91, Waite Park, MN formerly of St. Cloud, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Fern was born October 17, 1922 in Regal, MN to Arthur and Estella (Gordon) Glenz. She married Russell W. Hertzberg on June 25, 1941 in Paynesville, MN. They farmed in Paynesville until they moved to St. Cloud in 1956. The last three years she lived in Sterling Park Commons Apartments in Waite Park. Fern was employed by St. Cloud State University in food service for 23 years. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church.

Fern was still an independent, active lady who loved to read, always had a book tucked into the side of her chair, and a jigsaw puzzle in progress.

Survivors include daughters, Doris Frampton of St. Cloud, MN; Debby (Gary) Heltemes of St. Joseph, MN; brother, Gordon Glenz of Paynesville, MN; five grandchildren, Jeff (Darla) Frampton, Joel Frampton, Jon (Heather) Frampton, Kristy (Tim) Yurczyk, Chad Heltemes and four great granddaughters, Jillian, Tessa, Sydney and Greta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell on March 8, 1984, brother, Donald Glenz, and sisters, Velda Robbins, Betsy Kingsriter and Betty Mauer.
