Loyola H. Lardy, 94

March 8, 1918 - April 27, 2012

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Loyola H. Lardy, age 94, of St. Cloud who passed away on Friday at St. Benedict's Senior Community. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. and the Sauk Rapids VFW Auxiliary Post 6992 will pray at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Alan Wielinski will officiate and burial will be at St. Marcus Cemetery in Clear Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Loyola Helen (Gaida) Lardy was born on March 8, 1918 in St. Cloud to Peter and Rose (Betz) Gaida. On June 14, 1938 she was united in marriage to Marcus Lardy at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She was a kitchen assistant at Sterling Park Nursing home in Waite Park for 19 years. Loyola was a charter member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, was active in St. Peter's Christian Women, and Women of the Moose. She was also a member of the Sauk Rapids VFW Auxiliary Post 6992 and the St. Cloud Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 622. Loyola was a great cook who enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her son and daughters, Marcus (Colleen) of St. Cloud, Bonnie (Raymond) Morford of St. Cloud, Mary (Callen) Huff of Coon Rapids, Ann (James) Hansen of Sartell and Nancy Gilbert (John Melancon) of St. Joseph; brother, Robert Gaida of Cold Spring; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Loyola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus on May 13, 1997; brothers, Daniel and Peter; sisters, Genevieve Cota, Delores Steichen, Marge Helgeson, Josephine Spaeth, Mary Ann Sauer, JoAnn Wander and Rosie Jex; son-in-law, Jeffrey Gilbert and great grandson, Nicholas Morford.

Grandma will be missed. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. She is in heaven now with friends and family and Marcus. She will always be with us all. I loved when she would sing...she always made me feel so special.

Gosh I am so sorry to see her go. I will miss her a lot. I remember going to her house as a kid and sitting around the dining room table and playing cards with all the families for penny's, it was a blast. I remember her huge garden she had, and all the canning she did. I remember going to her and Mark's lake cabin, fishing with her, and how she always fished for sunfish with corn. She will be missed by many of family and friends. She was so wonderful.R.I.P. Ly. Love you and always will.
