Nancy Perry Obituary
Cold Spring
April 8, 1941 - December 6, 2016
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring, MN for Nancy V. Perry who died Tuesday at Quiet Oaks Hospice surrounded by her family. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Nancy was born in Willmar, MN to William and Helen (Rasmussen) Johnson. She graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1962 with a degree in elementary education. She married Neil Perry on December 27, 1964 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Nancy taught 2nd grade for four years before staying home to raise a family. Nancy loved gardening, raising tomatoes, quilting, reading biographies, water aerobics and traveling with her family to waterparks. She encouraged her grandchildren to take an interest in music.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Neil; children, Steve (Amy), Stuart (Lissa) and Maren (Derek) Slickman; mother, Helen Johnson; grandchildren, Emily, Anna, Laura, Eli and Jaden; and siblings, Susan (Tom) Amacher, Bill (Lorie) Johnson and Sarah (Kevin) Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Johnson.

Neil and I were best friends in high school and college at Michigan State University. I was in their wedding some 52 years ago, and have remained good friends since. Gail and I always enjoyed our trips to Minnesota, Arkansas , then back to Minnesota. Nancy was delightful and loving to Neil, the children and grandchildren.
We send our love and support to all of the family.

The Perry Family,
i have known Nancy and Neil since 1962 from college at St. Cloud and for the past 50 plus years through our YMCA profession and as friends. Nancy was charming, out going and very supportive to all especially for Neil as his wife. They were a wonderful couple and we enjoyed our many visits with them. I too just lost my wife two months ago, so I know the pain and heartbreak all of you are going through and Neil will need a lot of love and caring by all as we go through this time in our lives without our beloved spouses. i will be there for Neil and god bless you all at this time of life.
