Norma Madden Obituary

Norma Louise Madden, 86

St. Cloud

January 11, 1928 - January 12, 2014

Norma Louise Madden died Sunday morning at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Good Shepherd was home for Norma the past 10 years. Norma was born in Virginia MN to Ole and Hulda (Nanny) Hoglund. She married Keith Warren Madden on May 1, 1947 in First Presbyterian Church Virginia MN.

Following WWII, Norma and Keith married in Virginia MN. They moved to St. Cloud where they started and raised their family. Norma also worked with Keith in their home for their business of Madden Draperies. Norma loved square dancing and golf. She was a wonderful lady and people will always remember her openness and willingness to share her home, family, and love. She so loved decorating, dressing and cooking for the holidays, Christmas and Halloween were her favorites. She was well known for her traveling jar of homemade chocolate chip cookies that friends and family grew to expect if she was coming to visit. Norma will be missed but we are comforted to know that she has been called Home to be with her Lord.

Norma was preceded in death by husband Keith; father Ole; mother Hulda; sisters and brothers; Isabel, Carl, Lloyd, Eleanore, Evelyn, Richard, Anna Mae, and Gladys. She is survived by her children; Dennis, Sharon Weihrauch, Nancy Swanson and Robert; grandchildren; Alysia Madden, Jamie and Brian Weihrauch, Ryan and Erin Madden; and great grand children; Leya Madden, Ava and Trey Weihrauch, and Brody and Berkley Weihrauch.

The family would like to extend a warm and loving thank you to the staff of Good Shepherd for the care and love they surrounded our mom with the past 10 years.

Family visitation will be Friday January 17th at 9:30am followed by a memorial service at 10am in the chapel at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. Light refreshments will follow. Private Internment at the Little Falls National Cemetary.

When we first moved Mom to Good Shepherd the first thing I noticed was that Norma was in the room down the hall. It was like bringing the old neighborhood together one more time. Hope your memories ease your loss. I think Keith, Norma, Harry and Ann are dancing in heaven.
