Paul took great care to engage with this world and became for me a helpful example of ways to negotiate the beauty and mystery of this place. The absolute Joy and power of music he developed throughout his life and the care and enjoyment of the natural wonders and animal life he surrounded himself with along with his respectful diligence of the rule of law provided for me and certainly those he met, a most gifted fellow traveler. With gratitude.....

Very sorry to hear about Paul recently passing away. I had the opportunity to explore the Boundary Waters with Paul at a young age, and have the most vivid memories canoeing those sky blue waters, hiking those portages, and swimming in the ice cold waterfalls at a place I believe was called St. Louisa Falls. Truly a remarkable adventure!

Paul was a good servant to his community through his profession, the band, chorale , service organizations and his church. His stewardship of natural resources was admirable. I enjoyed conversing with him. We talked about faith, how the scriptures and church teaching can be in conflict. His growing contentment with life was good to watch. Rejoicing that he is no longer in pain. I would like to go to the interment.
