Nov. 28, 1925 - May 23, 2013
Violet L. Pittman, age 87 of Big Lake passed away on Thursday May 23, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital of St. Cloud. Visitation will be Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 4 PM to 8 PM with a Prayer Service at 730 PM at Church of Mary of the Visitation, 440 Lake Street North, Big Lake. Further visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday May 30, 2013 at 10:30AM at the church with Fr. Gene Doyle officiating. Interment will be at 3 PM at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sauk Rapids.
Violet was born on November 28, 1925 in Stanchfield, MN to Mirrell and Lydia (McGovern) DeBill. She and her husband Clyde lived in various Minnesota communities before settling in Big Lake in the early 1960's. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Church of Mary of the Visitation (formerly Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church) of Big Lake. She played steel guitar and enjoyed art. Spending time with her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mirrell and Lydia; husband Clyde in 2000; sons Russell and Lawrence; three sisters; and three brothers. Violet is survived by her sons Francis Pittman of Big Lake, Ricky (Bonnie) Pittman of Becker; daughters Carol (Gerry) Swanson of McIntosh, MN, Barb (Steve) Glammeier of Big Lake; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Dear mom,I love and miss you very much, it was hard to see you go, but it was harder to watch you suffer like you did. You always tried to be happy and keep a smile on your face no matter how bad you felt. I know that your having a party an dancing with dad and everyone with no pain with the biggest smile ever. I love you mom, and miss you very much!! I hated to see you go, but it was harder to see you suffer through everything that happened to you. You put up a good fight and alway's tried to be happy and keep a smile on your face no matter how much pain you were in. I know you'r parting an dancing now and having a good time.
