Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Thursday, January 31, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Anna for Virginia M. Knese who died Saturday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. The Rev. John Paul Knopik will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 9-11AM Thursday at the church in St. Anna. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon.

Virginia was born in Minneapolis to Hubert & Katherine (Majerus) Langer. She grew up in St. Cloud and worked for her father at Tech Grocery in St. Cloud. She married Elmer M. Knese on June 17, 1936 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud, from this marriage they had three children. Virginia was a homemaker for most of her married life and in her later years worked as a florist for Northside Floral in St. Cloud. She enjoyed crocheting table cloths and doylies for her grandchildren. Virginia also enjoyed fishing both in the summer and winter, watching television (especially her soap opras) and praying the rosary every day.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Knese of Clear Lake; Jean Knese of Avon; son in law, Terry McIntyre; ex daughter in law, Sue Knese; grandchildren, Cheryl Cranford, Patrice Fontenot, Frank Wicker, Tina Mariotti, Stacie Knese, Karla Scapanski, and Amy Franzen. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Eleanor & Matthew Franzen, Jack & Mason Owens, Casey & Corey Cranford, Kelsey Nestle, Alyssa Laue, Thomas, Andrew, Star Knese, Abigail, Katelyn, Anna, & Anthony Scapanski, Rodney III, John Paul & Amy Fontenot, Tanisha & Kaitlynn Wicker, Matthew & Nicolas Mariotti, great-great grandchildren, Rodney IV Fontenot, and Harley Trujillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2005, daughter, Darleen Wicker McIntyre, and grandson, Mike A. Knese.
