Brian Fowler Obituary

KITTERY, Maine - Brian A. Fowler Sr., 51, of Kittery, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at York Hospital.

Born Jan. 25, 1959, in Portsmouth, N.H., the son of Fred and Barbara (Stevens) Fowler of Eliot, Maine, who survive him. He was raised in Kittery and attended R.W. Traip Academy, where he was a passionate football player.

Brian was employed at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, formerly Palmer and Chenard in Somersworth, N.H., for the last 34 years.

He was an avid dart player, hardly ever missing a "Thursday night dart night." He also enjoyed his many Sunday afternoon gatherings with close friends at "Poverty Point" watching the Patriots.

Brian is survived by his parents; his brother, Fred Fowler Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Indiana; his sister, Sue Caldwell and her husband, Russell, of Kittery; his children, Brian Fowler Jr. of Kittery, Kristen Greene of Wells, and Sarah Fowler of Kittery; and his granddaughters, Kendall and Addison.

WE REMEMBER: He enjoyed spending time with his children and beloved granddaughters. Brian will be fondly remembered as a kindhearted man who always enjoyed a good laugh.

SERVICES: A celebration of his life, along with a time of sharing and refreshment, will be celebrated from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Portsmouth Elks Lodge, 500 Jones Ave., Portsmouth. Brian, you left us way too soon! You were a great guy and fun to be around. I feed fortunate to have known you and to call you my friend. I will miss: our "Thirsty Thursdays"; the smile you always seemed to have on your face; hearing about your children & grand children and seeing their pictures; all of your stories and your wit; the "wet finger" in my ear; but most of all I will miss you. I love you Dad. Thank you for always telling us how proud you were and saying "I love you" before hanging up the phone. I will always remember your ability to fix any problem in my life or admit that you did not have the answer, the way you loved your granddaughters, your work ethic, and your appreciation of the important things in life: family, friendships, and football. You will be sorely missed by all who knew you. I love you more than words can say. You meant the world to me, and I pray that you knew that.

I graduated from Highschool with Brian from Traip in 1977. We recently started conversing back and forth on facebook about an old friend that we had both lost touch with. He had quite the sense of humor about it. I am very sad for his familys loss. He was called away too soon. May you find peace in all of your memories.
