Catherine O'Neill Obituary

KITTERY, Maine — Catherine Elizabeth O'Neill, a longtime resident of the Kittery area, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H.

Born in 1939 in Portsmouth, N.H., Mrs. O'Neill received her college degree from Mt. Ida Junior College in Newton, Mass., and graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery.

She worked at Boston City Hospital and worked as a construction site project manager at Springbrook Condominiums in Portsmouth.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul O'Neill; her sister, Susan Morrill of Colorado; her sons, James O'Neill and wife Donna, and Paul O'Neill and wife Lisa; her daughters, Christine O'Neill, and Sharon Tehada and husband Dan; her grandchildren, Jessica and Elizabeth; and her great-grandchildren, Aaron and Christopher.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Justin Harding.

Mrs. O'Neill loved family gatherings, reading books and, most of all, cooking for family and friends. She had a laugh and smile that could light up a room.

WE REMEMBER: Catherine was a woman who would do anything for anybody if she could. She was well respected and loved. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut and Third Street, Dover. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
