Daniel Driscoll Obituary

LONDONDERRY — Daniel M. Driscoll, 77, of Londonderry, formerly of Exeter, Hampton and Methuen, Mass., died Monday, Aug.11, 2008, at the home of his son, with whom he resided.

He was born in Lawrence, Mass., on April 12, 1931, the son of the late Michael F. and Mary (Murphy) Driscoll.

Mr. Driscoll graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass., with the Class of 1948 and attended Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., and McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, Mass. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Driscoll also served on the Methuen Board of Trade and the Methuen Town Council, was a former member of the Methuen Rotary Club, Massachusetts Troopers Association, and the Retired State County & Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts.

Family members include his wife of 51 years, Barbara A. (Bailey) Driscoll; his son, Michael A. Driscoll and his wife, Sharon, all of Londonderry; two grandchildren, Corey D. Driscoll and Patricia B. Driscoll; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Bailey of Methuen, Mass.

WE REMEMBER: He served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in law enforcement as a State Police trooper for 21 years, retiring as a lieutenant. After his retirement as a police officer, he was affiliated with Old Methuen Realty for several years before founding Driscoll & Driscoll Realty & Appraising.

He was a former communicant of St. Monica Church in Methuen, Mass., a more recent communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Methuen, Mass., the Holy Name Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society in Hampton.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. See www.RemickGendron.com.
