There is no purer meaning of the word "friend" than Smokey. His heart was always touched by someone he met in his daily life. If anyone needed help, comfort, or recognition, he and his wife, Deb made sure they were involved. Smokey never hesitated adding another "new comer" into his family of friends. I have been honored to share Labor Day celebrations with him for the last 11 years and he always made me feel so welcome. That Holiday will remain special to me in his memory. Love, Judy Foley

Smokey leaves behind many, many "good, OLD, friends." Smokey was a founding member of the Pease AFB, NCO Club Corner Gang, having supported the "fellow Corner Gang Members" for many years. Smokey had a great sense of humor and was always joking around. Sometimes his teeth would get loose during a joke, making it even more funny. He was very patriotic, serving his country for over 20 years. Then he became very active in the American Legion, performing duties in many of the Posts officer slots. Smokey loved his family and friends, and would be there with any help in a minute notice. We will all miss you Smokey! Keep the Bar Open for us until we get there.
