Edward Blake Obituary

YORK BEACH - Edward Blake, 80, of Wavecrest Drive, York Harbor, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Brenda of 52 years; sons, Geoffrey of York, and Jonathan of New Gloucester; a sister, Natalie Blake of Gray; and several grandchildren.

He attended Emerson College and graduated from the University of New Hampshire.

For 35 years he and his wife owned and operated the Marginal Way House and Motel in Ogunquit. Prior to that he served in the United States Air Force, hosted a show on The Voice of the Capital radio station in Concord, N.H., as a public relations and promotions specialist for the Prudential Center in Boston, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Blake's Creamery and restaurant chain in New Hampshire.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 14, at the York-Ogunquit United Methodist Church followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the PKD Foundation or a charity of your choosing.

Brenda, I'm not sure you remember me but Ed worked with my husband Don & I at Prudential & he was also an usher in our wedding. I just saw Ed's obituary on Seacoast online & wanted to extend my sincere condolences for your loss. Don passed 5 years ago so I can share the sorrow you are experiencing. All of your years together leaves you with many great memories which you will cherish forever. My thoughts are with you.
