ROLLINSFORD - Edward Francis Reilly, III, 61, died in the early hours of Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Sarasota, Fla., surrounded by his wife, daughter, and dear friend.

A father, husband, entrepreneur and loyal friend to all, Ed was born on February 17, 1957, raised a third-generation Reilly in Dover, and was the son of Edward and Carolyn (McShane) Reilly. He was a 1975 graduate of Dover High School and has lived in this area all of his life. Ed got his first job at the age of 16 washing cars at the Ed Byrnes organization, where he would progress to the role of General Manager. In 1994 with the support of his family and wife as a business partner, he opened Ed Reilly Subaru, a family-owned and operated Subaru dealership in Concord, N.H., which has been successfully open for 24 years.

Ed was an active participant in a variety of different communities and organizations including Cocheco Country Club and its Lobster League, New Hampshire Automobile Dealers Association, National Automobile Dealers Association, University Park Country Club in Florida, coach of his daughter's tee ball, soccer, and basketball leagues when she was younger, and played in numerous golf leagues and tennis tournaments. For recreation, he attended NASCAR races in Loudon, N.H. with family and friends, spent summers in York Beach and Wells, Maine with family, avidly watched and attended New England sports and UNH Hockey games, and traveled to the Indy 500 with his father.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Sheila (Koleszar) Reilly; a daughter Kaitlyn Reilly of Washington, DC; his mother Carolyn Reilly of Dover; a sister Lee-Anne Sanfacon (Louis) of Rochester; and niece and god-daughter Megan Sanfacon. His father, Edward Jr., predeceased Ed in September of 2015.

Having met Eddie in 1975 at Byrnes and spent time watching him as he quickly matured, I still think of him as that focused, playful boy, so full of vitality. We had so much fun. An amazing success story both in his business acumen and personal life. I deeply share your loss. It truly saddens me, as I know he adored you both.

Sheila, Kaitlyn, Lee-Anne & Carolyn:

My family and I are very saddened by the news of Ed's passing. That family includes my brothers and sisters who have known Ed since I first brought him down for a little taste of NY/NJ life in the 70's.

I was with my three brothers at our nephew's wedding on L.I. this past Saturday and they were shocked to hear of Ed's passing. I am feeling the loss of one of my closest friends and my brothers and I are also feeling the loss of our brother from New Hampshire.

I can only offer these words of consolation: " Death leaves a heartache no one can heal..but Love leaves a memory no one can steal "

Ed if I were to look up what a true friend is in a dictionary (or google) it would say :see Ed Reilly. That is what you were to almost everyone you met. You made everyone that was a friend feel like a best friend. It was impossible not to smile when being around you. Thank you for being a friend. I will miss you everyday and miss answering the phone with you on the other end saying what are you doin? Which usually ended up with plans to go do something.
Sheila and Kaitlyn I am so sorry that you have lost Ed. Whatever we feel must be 10 fold for each of you. Just know how much he really really really loved both of you. No husband or father was prouder of his family, that I promise you.
