Grace Junkins Obituary
Rye - Grace Louise Junkins, 92, of Rye, widow of David E. Junkins, passed away on Friday, June 24 at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital.
She was born February 9, 1929, in Richmond, California to Winthrop and Carolyn (Yeaton) Burke.
Grace was passionate about taking care of her immediate family and also the members of her extended family through her volunteer efforts. She was a founding member of Betty's Dream in Portsmouth, along with serving as a personal care assistant at Betty's Dream, choir member for Rye Congregational Church, also serving as the church librarian. In addition to being a teacher's assistant at Portsmouth Christian Academy. Grace volunteered into her 90's and her efforts will be missed by all.
Besides her husband, David, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Harry W. Burke of Richmond, California.
Grace is survived by her sons, David (Kathleen) Junkins of Centerport, New York and Harry (Nancy) Junkins of Rochester, New Hampshire; grandkids Brendan Junkins, Carolyn Anderson, Catherine Bolster; great grandkids, Liam, Emma, Ryan Anderson in addition to Aaden, Abigail Junkins and Chloe Bolster.
Services: a time of visitation will be held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, June 28. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at Proprietor's Cemetery at 10:30 AM. For online condolences, visit: www.jvwoodfuneralhome.com. I think of Grace every time I go past the house on my way to the beach. I have fond memories of her and your dad, and was seeing if she still lived in the house on the way to the beach". My sympathy goes out to her family. God Bless.

I just received word of Grace's passing. She was an amazingly caring lady, who always greeted me with her beautiful smile. Often I'd see her at the post office, with her car piled high with her "treasures". Grace could envision a purpose for everything! Her heart was huge, and her faith secure. She'll be missed here, but Heaven must have been joyous at her appearing.
