Harold Kay Obituary

HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — Harold "Casey" Kay, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in his home of 46 years in Happy Valley.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine "Penny" Day Kay; his three children, Kevin, Diane, and Shannon; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Warren Kay.

In 1961, he and his new bride moved from his hometown of Portsmouth, N.H., to Portland, Ore., and later raised their three children together in Happy Valley. He worked as a surveyor and then a cartographic technician in the photogrammetric section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Portland for 30 years.

Through the years, he enjoyed camping and hiking in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest, playing softball and serving at his local church. He maintained a keen sense of humor to the very end.
