Keri Jaques-George Obituary

PORTSMOUTH - Keri Lee Jaques-George of Portsmouth died the night of Friday, Aug. 6, 2010.

She was born June 10, 1976, in Exeter, the daughter of Charles D. and Karen L. George of Portsmouth. Keri was raised and lived in Portsmouth, but also had lived in Phoenix, Ariz., to which she had hoped to one day return.

Keri was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and studied as an undergraduate at Keene State College. She was also taking classes at Foster Penn, pursuing a veterinary degree.

Keri aspired to work with animals, and her life dream was realized upon taking a position at the VCA Animal Hospital in Portsmouth, a source of much happiness for her.

In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her husband, David Jaques; brother Christopher D. George of Los Angeles, Calif.; her black Labrador/shepherd mix, Bandit; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

WE REMEMBER: Keri was loved by many who thought the only things more beautiful than her smile were her passion, drive and enthusiasm for life.

SERVICES: The Georges will host a gathering to celebrate Keri's life at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at The Rusty Hammer in Portsmouth, where Keri had once worked. All who were influenced by her life are invited. A memorial fund has been established, and donations may be sent to the Keri Lee George Jaques memorial fund at TD Bank. The J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, in Portsmouth, assisted with arrangements. Visit www.jvwoodfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest book and/or to send a private condolence.

Chuck and Karen:

I was so saddened to hear of Keri's passing. My parents emailed me to let me know. My apologies for not being able to attend at the Rusty Hammer.

I remember when you had the Exxon Station and I would see Keri and Chris coming in happily with the two of you! She will be deeply missed and my prayers are with you and yours during this most difficult time.

I pray your grief will be short and remember the fond times you had while she was with you. I am sincerely sorry for this very tragic loss.

Keri, I will never forget the first shift we worked together at the Hammer. We hit it off like peanut butter & jelly but with a spirit and infectious personality like yours - it was easy to see you getting along with everyone! You were an amazing soul, your energy, your laughter, your smile...we had so many things in common; our deep love for our dogs, our families and our friends. A lot has changed over the past 11 years since I was so lucky to have you come into my life. We kept in touch when we could but you never were far from my thoughts, even 3000+ miles away. I will miss you terribly and look forward to seeing you again my friend...may you rest in ever lasting peace.
All my love to your family, your husband and your dog Bandit.

Keri was one of my dearest friends in high school. We had so many adventures together...band, working at Momma D's, skiing at Gunstock. This picture is from three years ago or so when I last saw her at the Red Hook Brewery.

My heart goes out to all that had the blessing of knowing her.

I remember Keri from New Franklin School and PHS band. She had such an energetic spirit and her voice was always cheerful. She was such a sweet soul. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Please be comforted in knowing that she was loved by so many and will be remembered by those with whom she crossed paths. Though I haven't seen her since high school (1991), I remembered her face and name right away. She is in our hearts no matter how much time passes.

Wishing you much peace.
