Kevin Morse Obituary

DOVER - Kevin J. Morse, 50, formerly of Greenleaf Ave., in Portsmouth, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Riverside Rest Home. Born September 25, 1966, in Kittery, Maine, Kevin is the son of Harold and Evelyn (Viens) Morse.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Ann Fournier of Barrington; three brothers, Michael Morse and his wife, Nancy of Dover, Timothy Morse and his wife, Blair of Virginia, and Patrick Morse and his wife, Gabrielle of Somersworth, along with many nieces and nephews.

Kevin was a star in his close-knit family-the jokester, the tease-bringing love and laughter to everyone he met and insisting on being a part of the life around him. Kevin grabbed hold of life's obstacles and, with patience and tenacity, figured out creative ways around them. He engaged in everything with gusto: swimming and kayaking at summer camp; Saturday bowling and dinner out; and participating in his great love, Special Olympics. A star in track and field, Kevin earned a multitude of ribbons which he proudly displayed in his apartment.

Kevin attended the Great Bay School and Training Center, and upon completion, he worked in the back shop with his friends; the weekly paycheck giving him confidence and a sense of being a part of the community. Over time, Kevin moved to his own space within the Great Bay residential program. Kevin endeared all who met him, establishing many long-term friendships.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be Friday, April 7, 2017, from 8:30-10:30 a.m., at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visiting hours at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave., Dover. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth.
