Marie P. MacPherson

FREEPORT — Marie P. MacPherson, 76, of 137 Bow Street, Freeport, and formerly of Kennebunk, and Norfolk, Conn., died at her home Monday, March 23, 2009. Her family was with her when she passed. She was the wife of Richard W. MacPherson.

She was born July 17, 1932, in Winsted, Conn., the daughter of Loyal S. and Mary (LaFlamme) Humphrey. Marie graduated from the Gilbert School in 1950 and attended the Hartford Conservatory of Music.

She worked as an executive secretary to the manager of the Winsted office of the Connecticut Bank & Trust Company. She left that position to raise her family and to teach piano in her home.

She was formerly a member of the Norfolk (Conn.) Country Club, the Norfolk Curling Club, the Isabella Eldridge Club and the Northwest Auxiliary of Child & Family Services of Connecticut.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her son, Richard H. MacPherson, of North Anson; her daughter, Mandana MacPherson, and her husband, Cameron Trotter, of Freeport; her grandson, Aidan S. Trotter; and her brother, Frederick J.S. Humphrey, and his wife, Marsha, of Winsted, Conn.

A committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9, at the family plot in Forest View Cemetery, in Winsted, Conn., with the Rev. Salin M. Low, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Pine Meadow, Conn., officiating.
