Mark Wentzell Obituary
Mark was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of the late Willis Wentzell and Shirley Sessions.
Mark was a resident of Ogunquit. He and his wife, Lorna, were also seasonal residents at their home in Stuart, Fla. A graduate of Wells High School in 1972, Mark was an exceptional athlete playing football, basketball, baseball and track. Mark held the state record in the shot put for a number of years.
Mark was the owner of Kenzie Mart in Wells. Prior to owning his own business, he was a longtime employee of Hannaford Bros.
He enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer. Mark was a member of the Cape Neddick Country Club. He was also a season ticket holder of the Sanford Mainers baseball team since the team's inaugural season. Mark did not miss many of the Wells High home football games since his playing days.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Lorna Wentzell; daughter and son-in-law, Mollie and Dan Doucette; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Izaiah Doucette; and brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Pam Wentzell.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at the First Baptist Church, Main Street, North Berwick. A reception at the Cape Neddick Inn will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, c/o Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074. I am out of State this week end or I would be there. Mark and Willie are like younger brothers to me in the short time we worked together on planning and finishing the Moody Common and other things. I will miss him dearly.

There are truely very few people who have genuine care and kindness to all people and Mark was one of them. He was always a shining light and will be sorely missed in this community. My heart goes out to Lorna, Molly and the rest of the family. He touched many and will be remembered for that gift.
