Pamela Lariviere Obituary

Pamela Ann (St. Lawrence) Lariviere
1943 — 2021
Pamela Ann Lariviere, beloved wife, dedicated mother, cherished nana and great-nana, lifelong Portsmouth resident, outstanding baker, and expert seamstress, passed away April 10, 2021, at the age of 77. She was a kind, bright, and loving soul, whose warmth touched countless lives.
Pam was the fifth of six children born to the late Horace and Doris St. Lawrence. A true Portsmouth native, she spent her years building a beautiful life in the bustling seacoast town. After attending local grade schools and graduating from Portsmouth High School in 1961, she worked at Pic'n Pay on Islington Street, where she met her husband of 59 years, Lawrence (Larry) Lariviere.
Pam and Larry were married in 1962, and together raised four children: Leanne, Paul, Philip, and Lauren. Once the children were in school, Pam began to work at her and her husband's business, Larry's Custom Interiors, where she juggled responsibilities as seamstress, Vice President, and Treasurer for 48 years. She beautified many local homes with her handiwork, and charmed clients with her expert eye and caring demeanor.
In her spare time, Pam was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing puzzles, soaking up some sunshine, and birdwatching with her husband. She cherished traveling and summers spent "upta camp" at the lake with her family and friends. Pam will be remembered for her infectious smile, exquisite attention to detail, no-nonsense advice, and for always welcoming everyone with open arms and spoiling her family with homemade meals.
Pam will be immensely missed and survived by her husband, Larry; their children Leanne, Paul, Philip, and Lauren; son-in-law Kevin and daughter-in-law Bobbi; grandchildren Rick, Kristina, Kendal, and Mariah; great-grandchildren Harper and Tucker; her two brothers, Charles and Greg; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was predeceased by her sisters Janet, Marion, and Phyllis.
Visiting hours will be 4 pm–6 pm Friday, April 23rd at Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State Street, Portsmouth. Family and all friends are invited to attend a celebration of Pam's life 11 am-3 pm Saturday, April 24th, at her daughter Leanne's home at 2006 State Road, Eliot ME. Both events will be held outdoors and all guests shall wear masks and adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols while in attendance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Music Hall, 28 Chestnut Street, Portsmouth, NH or online at https://www.themusichall.org/support-us/donate/. Please indicate any gifts made in memory of Pam by noting her name in the "Detailed Funds" field online or the memo field of mailed checks.
To honor Pam, raise a glass of champagne and hold your loved ones close. We love you, Nana!

Pam and Larry were like two peas in a pod. The perfect example of what a husband and wife should be. They were loving parents who displayed in their daily lives how proud they were to be apart of the All-American Family.

Pam was my cherished Aunt! Our family called her Saint Pam! She unselfishly helped my blind diabetic mother make her way in life. I have so many fond memories of dinners, camp, and being holed up at her house while awaiting for the delivery of my first grandchild. During the ice storm she keep me occupied sewing draperies in their basement with Larry checking the quality of my work. Not as good as her but I would do!! I miss you dearly! Love Buffy

High school friend & classmate who remembers her 'ray of sunshine' walking the hallways of brand, new PHS. She most certainly epitomized a 'life well lived' & will be missed. My sincerest condolences to her entire family & closest friends. RIP '61 Clipper ...
