Steven Moylan Obituary

SANFORD, Maine - Steven O. Moylan, 66, of Sanford, died on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at his home in Sanford, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Bangor on April 22, 1951 to Albert "Red" Jr. and Dawn (Powers) Moylan. Being from a military family, Steven attended school in several places, graduating from high school in Avon Park, Fla.

After high school, he attended the Portsmouth Vocational Technical College for machining, which set him on the path to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he was employed until retirement in 2006.

When Steven retired, he went to work as a custodian for St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish of Sanford-Springvale and remained there until a year ago.

Steven enjoyed several hobbies, the most important being his love of golf. He was a member of the Sanford Country Club. He was a hunter and fisherman and a member of the South Berwick Rod and Gun Club. He was also a long time friend of Bill W.

Steven was devout Catholic and was a communicant of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church.

His greatest joy came from his family, especially having the role of grandfather. The time he spent with his grandchildren was of utmost importance and he loved sharing his favorite activities with them.

Steven was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
