Virgil Harris Obituary
He was born July 15, 1924, in Garden Grove, Calif., the son of the late Farris and Julia A. (Tripp) Harris.
Mr. Harris was raised in California. He served in the Navy for 20 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He moved to Exeter in 1963 and was employed by Phillips Exeter Academy, drove a truck across country, and worked for the town of Exeter at the Water Treatment Plant.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara A. (Marcotte) Harris; three sons, Randy S. Harris and his wife Deborah of Chichester, Ron G. Harris and Rick A. Harris, both of Exeter; three grandchildren, Bradley, Karen and Laura; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Gabriel; one sister, Rachel Balch of Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.
WE REMEMBER: He was a member of the Exeter United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Barbara, enjoyed traveling, square dancing and round dancing.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Exeter United Methodist Church, Route 27.
Burial will be in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Exeter United Methodist Church.

Virgil was a quiet and gentle man. He was a giant in kindness and likeability. He will be sorely missed by family as well as friends. Our prayers are with you all as you celebrate the life of a good man.
