Virginia Rollins Obituary
Born in Kittery, Maine, on February 1, 1925, she was a daughter of Eugene and Hazel ( Pettigrew ) Gerry.
She and her loving husband of 74 years, the late William Rollins made their home and raised their family on Brixham Road. She was a cornerstone of the Eliot United Methodist Church, active in the thrift shop, working on the turkey suppers, and many other church activities. She enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband and Sylvia and Bill Grogan, watching birds and wildlife on their land, her greatest love was time spent with family and adoring her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her family, children, Gloria Blake, William Rollins, Nancy MacIntire, Rhonda Locke and Vanessa Rackliff; grandchildren, Scott Blake, William Rollins, Stephen Rollins, Tami-Jo Rollins , Brian Rollins, Shawn MacIntire, Troy Locke, Karen Walker and Heidi Rackliff; fourteen great grandchildren; and sisters, Sylvia Grogan, and Linda Lytle.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, William Rollins; sister, Marjorie Johndrow; brother, Eugene Gerry; and grandsons Terry Blake and Kevin Rollins.
SERVICES: A time of viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Pelkey Funeral home on Tuesday, May 9, on Route 1 bypass in Kittery, Maine. Friends are invited to join her family for a graveside service on Tuesday, May 9 at 12:30 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on State Road in Eliot where committal prayers and military honors will be offered for Bill at the same time. A time of remembrance and refreshments will follow the committal services, at the Eliot United Methodist Church on Route 236, in Eliot, Maine.
