The Ice Bucket Challenge became famous as a fundraiser for ALS research. That would have been nothing for Billy. He took his Hampton Lifeguard swim test in water about that cold. A true leader of the Hampton Guards and an admired and loved friend by all he knew. Proud to say he considered me a friend. We wish him a much deserved peace now.

To the family and friends of Bill, please accept my condolences. Knew Bill from our St. Mary's days, playing ball, working at Rigazio's Market and later at Plymouth State. Well liked by all. A shame someone who enjoyed life so much is gone to soon.

Camping in the white mountains. We told Billys mom that we would make sure and take him to church that Sunday.Honestly,we had a couple of beers that weekend.
Long time ago Billy, but what sticks with me is the kid you were and i'm sure the great adult you became.I saw you once, briefly, when you were lifeguarding in Hampton i think.
It seemed like you were doing what you loved.
One of the good ones . Please accept my condolences,Billy's family.
I just imagine he touched many lives.
Sincerely,Al Leavitt

Many many great memories of Billy from our childhood growing up and our years playing sports at Spaulding. He was a great athlete, and a natural leader which lead to him being chosen as captain of our football team. A really tough guy that used that toughness to battle ALS. RIP my friend. I will think fondly of you each time I drive past your house on Washington Street!!

Billy & I have been friends for decades. I had not seen him for several years when we reconnected when our Moms were at Rochester Manor. He was an easy friend in high school, and a great man later in life as well. I'll miss you, my friend.
