Allan Walter YOKI Allan Walter Yoki, son of Jacob and Amanda Yoki, was born in Hamilton, Montana on March 16, 1920 and died in Seattle, Washington on February 17, 2010. Allan graduated from Hamilton High School. In 1941 he was employed by the Seattle District of the Army Corps of Engineers. During World War II Allan spent 3 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U.S., New Guinea, the Philippines and in Tokyo, Japan. He was part of General MacArthur's Combined Operational Intelligence Corps. Allan returned to his civil service status with the Seattle District Army Corps of Engineers after the war. He married Winifred McPherson on September 3, 1946. An infant son, born in 1952, lived only three days. No other children blessed this marriage. After Allan retired in 1976, he and Winifred traveled and enjoyed sports together. They enjoyed a long and active relationship with Tibbetts United Methodist Church. One brother and five sisters preceded Allan in death. Allan is survived by Winifred, his loving wife of 63 years, a niece, Joyce Olsen of Deer Lodge, Montana, a niece, Vivian Baylor (Hank) of Arlee, Montana, a niece, Virginia Starks of Wyoming, a niece June Isaacson of Salt Lake City, Utah and a nephew, Ron Haley of Everett, Washington. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Allan at 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2010 at Tibbetts United Methodist Church, 3940 41st Avenue Southwest. Remembrances may be made to the church.
