Anthony Segale Obituary

Anthony J. "Tony" SEGALE Age 56, passed away August 28, 2003 at his home in Buckley, Washington after a courageous battle with cancer. Tony was born at Swedish Hospital in Seattle to A.J. and Eldrid Segale on April 10, 1947. He was raised in Boulevard Park until the family moved to Federal Way during his high school years. Upon graduating from Federal Way High School in 1965, he began working for his father at RST Disposal in Auburn Washington. During 1967 he met the love of his life and future wife Patty. They were married January 16, 1971, and moved to Buckley shortly thereafter. After many years working the garbage routes at RST, he took over as manager and continued working there until 1995. In 1995 he became owner/manager of Yakima Waste Systems with his father. In addition to family and work there were many passions in Tony's life. He and Patty owned, bred, raised, and boarded race horses for many years. One of his favorite pastimes was attending and participating in antique and classic car shows. He loved cruising around in his muscle cars, working in his garage, and entertaining his friends and family at his farm. He was always the center of the party and had an amazing sense of humor. He rarely called people by their given names and had at least one nickname for everybody. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Patty, sons Derick and Vince (wife Helen), parents Eldrid and Angelo (Bill), uncle Lafe Holm, sisters Tari Carder, Vicki Staley, Lori Segale, and Paula Segale, nieces Traci LaRoche and Angela Carder and cousin Honi Condiotty. He is also survived by many in-laws including seven nieces and one nephew. Visitation will be held 3 - 7 p.m. Tuesday September 2 at Yahn & Son Funeral Home, 55 West Valley Highway, Auburn (253) 833-8877. Although it has been many years since I saw Tony, I will always remember his big bearded smile. The way he could laugh at seemingly anything. And the way his eyes lit up like the noon day sun whenever a member of his family entered the room. Even though Tony is gone from the Earth, I'm sure his love will be felt here for a long, long time.

I offer my deepest sympathies to Patty, Vince, and Derick as well as the rest of the Segale family.

I miss him so much already. It is because of him, I am the farm girl I am today. I have so many farming memories with him, spent so many weekends with him and Patty growing up. I learned so much from him. He was my advisor in so many areas of life. There is now a big hole in so many peoples' lives. There is a big hole in mine. I am so grateful that I have the assurance he is in heaven with Jesus....I know I will spend eternity with him.
