Ben is, and always will be my best childhood friend. I have many memories of our time spent at the bus stop waiting to go to school, hang out at each of our houses, many a hours at each of our families dinner tables, and others to numerous to list. This world is less than what it was without Ben in it. He always had a positive perspective, and a good attitude. Ben cared about his friends, family, and co-workers. I will truly miss him, and count myself blessed to have known him well.

Me and my wife Nan and daughter Joanna extend our heartfelt sympathies and love to you as you grieve the loss of this wonderful young man.

The Brossard family is truly amazing. I am deeply sorry for the sadness Ben's passing brings to the hearts of so many. I had the joy of getting to know them while Matthew was stationed on the HENRY BLAKE. We always enjoyed having them over, our dogs got along great, and my son Isaiah had quite the crush on Jayme. Later, when Jayme found out she was pregnant with a girl we even joked of an arranged marriage between Elle and my son Noah. I have always been amazed at the warmth and strength this family has. Ben will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We were truly blessed to have known him, and continue to be blessed by knowing his family.

I first met Ben on the FIREBUSH in Kodiak Alaska. He was a hard worker, always had a smile on is face, and was an inspiration to his shipmates. Years later, our paths crossed again when Ben was stationed on the HENRY BLAKE. Ben's fight was inspirational to everyone who knew him. I feel honored and blessed to have been able to share a portion of Ben's life.

Ben was my cousin, as well as a true hero and inspiration to all those whose lives he entered. As a little girl I always got so excited to see Ben and his younger brother Adam when we had family get togethers. Ben was always a gentle and kind soul. I miss and love him so much but can say I am glad he is no longer in pain. I pray all the people around Elle, Bens daughter as she grows up will tell her stories and let her know just how amazing of a person her daddy was and will always be remembered as and she will have him watching over her. I love you Ben now and forever.

Ben was an amazing person and member of the crew of HENRY BLAKE. He had such a positive attitude, no matter what. Even when they first discovered the tumor, had the first surgery, and the recovery, I was impressed with Ben and Jayme. Ben would laugh and joke despite what was going on. I remember when he drove to the ship after the surgery- he had electric tape covering the inside of his sunglasses on one side. He said it allowed him to focus and you couldn't see what his "crazy" eye was doing when you looked at him:) Jayme- you are a wonderful and supportive wife and mother!! You were always there for Ben and I am in awe of your strength. My continued prayers for you and your family. I know Ben is looking down from above smiling like he always did!! Elle is truly blessed to have you as her parents!!!!

Ben Brossard was a great mentor to many at the MSST Seattle 91101. He was the best boat driver (Coxswain) I knew. As a guy who help create the unit, nobody new the boats as he did. He personally took time to help improve my skill and knowledge of the small boats at our unit. As a leader, he always stuck up for his crew and made sure they had what they needed. A very unselfish person, one you could count on. One thing we enjoyed doing together was chewing tobacco during brakes on the job. I served with him for two years there and will never forget him. I sorry for your families loss. God Bless

My heart goes out to Jayme, Elle and Ben's family. Ben will be missed. I had the honor of meeting Ben while we were getting radiation on our brain tumors in California. We fast became "tumor buddies". He always understood what it felt like having a brain tumor(s). We knew how much it worried our family and friends. We would celebrate "good" MRI's, and be there for each other if a "bad" MRI. I miss you Ben and thank you for the many many phone calls we shared during our "tumor journey". I know you will always be with us in spirit. Jayme and Elle loved you with all their hearts and you loved them too. You were so proud of your wife and daughter. I will always remember the joy in your voice when you learned Jayme was pregnant. You could hardly wait to become a Daddy. Elle will grow up knowing she had a Daddy that adored her. Prayers to those who now have a Ben sized hole in their hearts. Love you Ben and heaven is a brighter place with your presence.
