Björg ASKEVOLD 10.18.1906 ~ 1.5.2011 Born to Lars & Wardes (Hegstad) Askevold in Trondheim, Norway, as fourth of ten children. The family trait of gentle humor was reflected in all of them. Raised in Bergen, she became an accomplished pianist & furthered her studies in Oslo at the national music academy. Björg used her skills & gentleness to teach & care for the children of prominent families. After emigrating to Seattle in 1952, she continued caring for such households as their manager & personal secretary. In her graciousness, she made her yard a peaceful & beautiful oasis for others to enjoy with her. This lovely & graceful lady leaves behind her youngest sister, Eli Lundvall, near Oslo, Norway, and many nieces & nephews in Norway, Montana, and Washington. There will be a memorial celebrating the 104 years of her life at Norse Home on Monday, January 17th at 2 p.m.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I so enjoyed my time with Bjorg at Norse Home. She demonstrated respect for others in every encounter. What a wonderful example for all. I am thankful to have known her.
