Blair Furman Obituary
Blair "Joe" Furman passed away January 12, with his family by his side, after living with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis for almost three years.
Joe was born August 24, 1948 in St Louis, MO. to Margaret and Blair Furman. When he was four years old his family moved to Washington. Joe grew up in Edmonds, graduating Edmonds High School Class of 1966. In 1968 Joe married his high school sweetheart, Danya Cline.
Joe received two Purple Hearts in Vietnam. After leaving the service Joe and Danya settled back in Edmonds, raising their two children, Erica and Joshua. After 33 years with the Boeing Co. Joe retired as a Flight Line Delivery Manager in 2003.
Joe was a talented woodworker, and also loved traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family at their cabin on Lake Cavanaugh. Joe was intelligent, with a fantastic quick wit. He was a fun loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be terribly missed by all who loved him.
Joe is survived by Danya, his wife of 47 years; daughter Erica Knowles; son Joshua (Charlotte); grandchildren Beatrice, Cameron, and Henry; brothers in-law Steve Cline (Kate) and David Cline (Charlene).
The family deeply appreciates the services of Evergreen Hospice.

So sorry to learn of Joe's passing. We remember fondly meeting on our cruise to Pamama and our visit to Edmonds and Lake Cavanaugh. Joe was a bright light to all who knew him. Our sincerest condolences to Danya and his loving family.

Joe started as a customer of Midway Plywood and turned into a friend. It would be hard to find a more upbeat, positive person. The friendship deepened as his son Josh came to work for us for a bit...and I have enjoyed knowing grandson Cameron. Danya, your husband was a good man and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
