I too worked with Carl at EPA. I was a young, brand new attorney and the first case I ever handled was a violation of oil spill prevention regulations at an oil storage facility in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho that he brought to me. We worked successfuly on that and many other cases of that sort. I found him so humane and practical and have heard only now that he is no longer with us. I feel privileged to have known and worked with him and offer my deep condolences to his family. David Heineck

I had the pleasure of working with Carl at EPA for many years. He was a good guy who rarely missed an opportunity to talk with pride about his daughters, how well they were doing at school, etc.
I was saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family.
