Charles Christiansen Obituary

Charles CHRISTIANSEN Died at home on August 24. He was born on December 20,1932 in Philadelphia, the youngest of seven chrildren. His parents, Ole and Anna Christiansen migrated from Norway in 1920. He was raised in Philadelphia and joined the Coast Guard at seventeen. After the service he studied at Minnesota universities with intermittent tours in the Merchant Marine. While at the University of Minnesota he married Rae Roberson. They had two daughters, Carrie and Erika. He worked as a firefighter in Minneapolis. In the 1970's he married Ann Whiteside. They went to trade school in New Orleans, after which they designed and built their own home in NW Florida and created a company called, Woodworkers' Collaborative. In 1989 he retired and they moved to Seattle. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his daughters, Carrie and Erika Christiansen and their mother Rae Christiansen, a sister, Agnes Felton, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a private memorial gathering on September 10. In lieu of flowers please send donations in his memory to Hospice of Snohomish County.
