Chris Morrison Obituary

Chris Alan Morrison

Gone too soon

Chris Alan Morrison lost his battle with cancer on June 4, 2016 at his home in Bothell, WA. He was surrounded with family when he passed. Chris was born October 20, 1958 to Dione Godfrey and Larry Morrison in Walla Walla Washington.

Chris grew up in Lake Forest Park and later in Bothell where he attended Inglemoor HS and then Shoreline Community College in Seattle. Always active in sports in his youth, Chris developed a passion for skiing, tennis, golf and baseball and was outstanding at all. He continued to play golf his whole life and was fortunate to play many tremendous golf courses in the US and just recently in Europe. In addition to running his Domino's pizza franchises, Chris devoted most of his adult life to helping his son Trever follow his own dream of playing baseball. When Trever went from high school ball to Oregon State University, Chris became a huge Beaver believer, attending just about every game, home and away over the last three years.

He was fortunate to have so many caring friends that supported him over the last 20 months in his fight. The family is grateful to all of those that have been there for him.

Chris is survived by his son Trever (21), stepson Geoffrey, his mother Dione (Kirkland), father Larry (Ingrid) of Scottsdale, brothers Craig (Layne) of Bellevue and Kevin (Jayme) of Sammamish, nephew Jace and nieces Kaelyn, Krystin, Mykelle and Markie, uncle Dwight (Peggy), and cousins Muni and Mike.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on June 15, 2016 at Broadmoor Golf Club at 2340 Broadmoor Drive E., Seattle. In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to the Kaplan Cancer Research Fund of the Swedish Medical Center Foundation: http://swedishfoundation.org/kaplan

I was a good friend of Chris when I lived in Seattle. I left in 1990 to move East and have had very little contact with him since. I remember his home and his decision to get involved with the Domino's franchise. He was a wonderful human being. I met him in a personal growth franchise business we both experimented with. I thought of him today and found out he had passed. I am speechless! I know he was loved by all and he will be missed! Blessings to all his family!

Our time with Chris was way too short. I will never forget that smiling, laughing face or Chris goofing around with David at Beaver baseball games. I saw what a supportive father, son, and friend he was. I saw the love and pride in his eyes when he watched Trevor play baseball. I saw so many wonderful things that I will never forget. It was a blessing to meet and spend time with his family and friends, too. Rest in peace, Chris.

I wish the very best for the family. Chris had one the most amazing spirits I have had the pleasure to know in the last couple of years. My son was also a Beaver baseball player. As much courage and inspiration we saw from the coaches and players, there was NONE more rewarding to me than what I saw from Chris Morrison. He will forever shape my life on how to be the best human being I can possibly be.
Long live Chris Morrison.
