David Gailey Obituary

David Brent GAILEY Died 12/27/05 at 46 yrs of age. He was a lifelong resident of Boulevard Park, graduated from Glacier HS. Brent is survived by his parents, Duane and Jean Gailey, siblings, Mike (Lisa), Jim, Jackie (Bill), Scott (Magali), his aunts and uncles, in-laws, Ed & Ricki Hickel, Mike & Becky Macy, Seth (Joel) Hickel, nieces & nephews, Chad (Sandy), Tim, Jami, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Samantha, Christian, Jesse (Michelle), Jeremy (Cory), Jason (Julie), Jacqueline, & his beloved greatnephew, Jared, son of Jason & Julie Macy. His many friends are left to mourn including best friends, Doug, Gordie, Tony "G" & their families, the Piwens, Chacharons, Commons, Slightams, Randy, Marty, & many, many more - too many to list. He left Cindy Lou Gailey his (recently former) wife of 23 yrs, to help keep alive the memory of this most kind, giving (to a fault!) man. A man of smiles, plans & dreams who, at the last, asked & wanted only to be a family again. Love was unconditional, forgiveness was complete, hope for you was on the horizon. You left too soon. The pain is gone. Race on Brent, race on.

Dear Brent,

You will never know what a deep void that you have left in our lives! We miss you so very much...your calls on the telephone, your visits to us in Florida...Ed's and my first visit to the races in Charlotte, the day we spent at Cedar Key that was so cold you actually had to put on a jacket!!!

We never will forget your generosity to us and to many, many that were in need financially or help wise...

We truly appreciated what you did for our Cindy when she was left with huge debts after her divorce ...we could never thank you enough for being there!

There are so many, many things that I could list that made you real special to us ...shipping my rocks to Florida...your gifts of SLUGS in all forms [to tease me] and on and

on! I only regret that I never had the opportunity to tell you these things in person...BUT...there will be the time to do this when we meet again in that heavenly home!!!

Until then, LOVE and PEACE!

brent, this blustery march day reminds me of our spring and fall trips to the ocean to enjoy the wild weather. our dog loved chasing the gulls, remember? the many sand dollars we collected are still here and out of reach of the dog- boy, did he love chewing them up!

me, and your friends and family, continue to grieve daily that you aren't here to share a new year with. it isn't easier with the passage of time. you are omnipresent.

it is, however, time to get on with life and only remember the wonderful gift your life gave all of us.

the loss of you at such a young age is so hard to bear. the knowledge of your unending love is a great comfort.

you will never know how much you are missed. we will all see you again in a better place.

until then brent, sleep well.

Brent, The last time I saw you at the store you were excited to start a new chapter in your life with Debbie but god had other plans for you. You are/were a big teddy bear and now you are a star. I've known you all through school and you never changed, you always stayed the same.

You will be forever in our hearts.

Dear Brent

We miss you and Mom living with us for 5 months last Summer/Fall. We had so much fun the 4 of us. The new home has many of your touches in it. We were just talking about "who is going to be doing the Bar-B-Q this summer"? No one could do it as well as you! You are so missed and loved. We sent balloons up to the sky with notes attached, hope you got to read them, Mom loves you and misses you! You are and always will be in our hearts.

brent, there are so many reminders of you- our matching wine goblets, the racer's pictures, the watercolor pic of me, the dual recliner couch- it was great to share with you, with riley in the middle of course! i did my job wednesday- mowed the lawn. wish you could be here to see the growth of the spring flower bulbs you helped plant. remember? you were "impatient for impatients" and had to settle for primroses until it warmed up around here.

it continues to be very hard for your family and friends to accept that you are gone. know that i am aware of the love you still wanted to share. sleep well brent

Brent we love you, miss you and think of you so much. Our hearts and prayers go out to you Cindy Lou and Brents family and his many many friends. I was on the deck he built for us the other night and I said a few words to him and told him I was so sorry and I was looking up and just then I seen a shooting star. What a feeling. It was like he was telling me he was listening and I told him we loved him. We will be here for you Cindy Lou and little Riley, and for you to Jackie. All our Love John, Dg, Misty and Ebony.

Brent, my son-in-law forever. This is how long my love will go out to you and my remembrance will last. As discussed on the phone that last time, I will see you in eternity. Be looking for me. I will be with your favorite yankee mother-in-law, Ricki my wife of 55 years. Meanwhile, I will recall your most generous spirit and your ever present smile, yur continuous help offered to those you found in need, your willingness to work and the gracious welcome I always felt in your home in Seattle. And, Brent, I also want to than you for being so kind to my ailing older brother, 'Stub' as you visited him in his old rambleshack home in W VA. You will never know what it meant to him and he still talks about that ride in your bright red 'Cadilac'! You won the hearts of the hill country people, my family. You won the heart of Ricki and myself, of Seth, my son, of Becky, my oldest daughter, her husband, Mike, her entire family and most of all, Brent, you won the heart of my younger daughter, Cindy Lou Hickel Gailey. Thanks for being Brent, my son, for those fleeting years.
