David McFadden Obituary

David Jerome McFADDEN Jerry was born in Concrete, Washington. He attended West Seattle High School, graduating in 1946. He married Kathryn Hamilton in 1952. Jerry served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. After leaving the Navy, he joined the MilitarySea Transportation Service. Jerry later found his career at Todd Pacific Shipyard in March of 1966. During this time, he spent much of his free time volunteering at White Center Baptist and Grace Baptist, fixing houses and helping those unable to care for their homes. Jerry retired in April 1990, after which he and his wife moved to Tacoma. In retirement, Jerry spent his time gardening, being the neighborhood handyman, and enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On February 9, 2011, Jerry passed away peacefully at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his daughters, Megan Sripranaratanakul and Martha (Randy Branson); his sons, David (Glenda) and John (Michelle); his sister, Maureen (Floyd Claggett); twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jerry was a strong, compassionate man whose faith is the strength of the family. His sense of humor, vast knowledge, and loving nature will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Franciscan Foundation (Hospice). The service will be February 19, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Baptist Church 701 South 320th Street, Federal Way, WA 98003. Arrangements made by Yarington's Funeral Home.
