To be taken away from your parents and siblings, and placed into foster care, is very scary for a young child. The feelings of lost are deep and abandoning. When the Parkers accepted me and took me in, I had an older brother named "David". David made everything alright. He took me under his wing, I felt protected, he called me his "sister", He made me feel like a real person, I felt wanted. After 40 years, I am still apart of this loving family. I am still "sister" and "daughter", and so very proud of what I have. My brother "David" will always be in my heart, as I will love him forever, and carry his spirit with me.I love you David, and thank you.

Your "Sister",
Christine Cook

To Dave's Family,
Over the years I have been fortunate to meet many people that have impacted Greater Seattle Youth Baseball. But Dave is certainly one that put his hand print in Youth Baseball. Upon learning of Dave's departure, I was truly feeling a loss for our community. Dave made such a difference in helping develop our young men in the game of baseball and life. I know his lessons will continue through the hearts of many, and his legacy will live through all the young men he has touched. He will be missed, but we were definitly blessed to have him a part of all our lives. Thanks Dave for your gift......we will miss you very much...You were a mentor to many. Thank you family for sharing Dave with us all.

Travis, Sometimes we wonder how we get blessed in life to have fathers like yours. Thanks to Dave he's passed these same qualities on to you and the rest of the kids. Dad was a great man, a true freind to me as a child, a feirce competitor for the 1st rooster of the day, but would always share the tailfeathers with you at the end of the day. I will always remember those days we had together. With Dave heading to heaven, I guess Jesus will have to move to shortstop so there's room on 3rd for Dave. God Bless all you family....
